Pause to sit with God. Our Creator meets us where we're at, so let's take the time to slow down and closely connect.

I often keep a chair near my front door, where I sit outside and read before the morning sun shifts to the side of the house. On the evening of March 25, my spirit sensed a prompting to sit outdoors.
On my way out, I grabbed a devotional book I hadn't seen in a while, and as I settled into my chair and leafed through the pages, I couldn't quite settle on one of the 40 devotionals. I found myself reading a bit of this and that!
I continued turning the pages, landing at the back of the book and noticing on the bottom of the last page and the inside back cover, I had written these words in 2021:
Sit with Me
Sit with Me
This is where I want you to be
Receiving my Presence
Holding my Hand
Remembering that I'm your best Friend!
Sit with Me
Sit with Me
This is where I want you to be
Resting in My Presence
Receiving My Grace
As I'm there with you
Meeting Face to face!
Amen xoxo
While "Sit with Me" is not in Rhyming with God, I note in the preface that some of the poems included in the book are ones I initially penned inside of devotional books and journals, similar to how "Sit with Me" is tucked away in a devotional. Interestingly, I found it after the invitation to sit with God that evening, as if it were confirmation from God through words I had written years earlier.
Today, I add:
Friends,
Enjoy sitting with our Maker of the Universe
Slowing down and perhaps reading a verse
And soaking up nature
All made by our Creator
Breathe in the fresh air
Feel God's Love & Care
Relax your mind and enjoy this time
With God—The Beloved Divine!
In sitting with God,
Penny
xoxo
